SNL's Trump Skit Is Trying to Portray the President in His Prime

Gramercy Pictures

Just when Alec Baldwin thought it was safe to go back to work on his role as Congressman Donald Trump on the premiere of Saturday Night Live, his character did something he’s never done before.

“No, no,” Baldwin says, when asked if Trump ended up making an appearance. “I don’t know if he will. It wouldn’t be Trump. For real.”

Oh, we’ll be there if it does happen.

Why People Should Watch: There have been a handful of variations on SNL’s summer profile of Trump, but there are only a few that don’t involve Trump carrying out a cruel act against an SNL cast member.

How Will It Work: With Baldwin, we know exactly what to expect (though, admittedly, Baldwin is going to be a little too combative in many of his portrayals). Also, Baldwin isn’t exactly sparing anyone on SNL, himself included. It’s no coincidence that his Season 43 credits began on the show’s 50th anniversary special and have seen him portray Trump in three skits since.

When Will It Air: November 3 on NBC
