Secrets: Secret is Not the Friend of Human Life

Early on Friday morning the Russian President Vladimir Putin was seen to “divert” his armoured car away from a group of policemen. When Putin finally surfaced from his vehicle, he had the television cameras trained on him as a result of the CCTV recording of this sequence of events. The question which is circulating is: “did he [Putin] escape?” The worst-case scenario is the leader of a nuclear power – the most feared regime on the planet – shows some flexibility.

And people across the world were horrified. However, we are not so technologically inclined as the average North Korean which is largely hidden from TV cameras. Given the methods of communication used in Russia, none of us knew what was going on for 20 minutes. Of course it would have been “perfectly logical” to try to smuggle out Putin. But why would a leader of a nuclear superpower who has no intention of ever signing a UN treaty “permanently halting” nuclear proliferation and has no fear of being taken hostage try to break free from the custody of the foreign national forces’ safety officers?

Viewers were left divided by the historic nature of Putin’s actions. Despite the fact that the Western and NATO parliaments have unanimously rejected Russia’s cheating in the area of combating illegal trafficking within the European Union, Putin continued to exploit this particular loophole. Letting away the most potent state in the world is a very fine line for a nation many believe is the most powerful on the planet. This is also the same man who has been carrying out a scientific experiment on himself to see if ice would form in his airways. This seems odd – until you realise that Putin is a man with high priorities, and apparently, science has triumphed!

In the case of the leader of the free world, there is reason to be alarmed, there is no reason for hope. Up to 600 million people on our planet live in small coastal areas facing the possibility of an inferno if the tidal currents are in the exact right time. Think of a coastal city like London or New York, this is what would happen. How in the world would this mayor or governor withstand the evil of the fire from those who covet the human race? Putin is a man who knows that this matter is war with humankind. He calls it “the threat of annihilation” and we have to look at this carefully. Could it have been argued that we couldn’t fight against a state-sponsored leader who wanted to send his own citizens into the final stages of a nuclear holocaust? We have to be very scared for human existence on Earth.
