Atlanta Braves players celebrate their World Series win with a giant paper bag.
Eleven players from both teams were named All-Stars by Major League Baseball this year, though only five made the cut when it came to the World Series.
After a 13-game, two-week series, the game’s most prolific producers had the pitching game to thank.
The Atlanta Braves prevailed 4-2 to move ahead 2-1 on their National League Division Series against the Houston Astros.
And Carlos Santana, Freddie Freeman, Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis all claimed MVP honours for the victorious Atlanta squad.
The Braves broke a record of 35 straight NLCS games without a postseason victory when they fell into a 3-1 hole, but they scored twice in the ninth inning of their tie-breaking fifth game.
They went on to win their first NLCS since 2005, and now have their eyes set on their first trip to the World Series since 2005.
The Houston Astros will need a miracle to avoid being eliminated. In Game Five, a three-run third inning gave the home team a 2-0 advantage, but both heavyweights scored three times in the bottom of the inning.
The series continues with Game Six at a time to be confirmed.
