Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are spending more time in Vermont, as the state’s attorney general investigates allegations that T-shirts bearing the likeness of Barack Obama are being sold illegally.
“We are in a real hurry,” Eric Sleichter, special counsel to Vermont attorney general Terence Donilon, said on Thursday about a probe that commenced three weeks ago, focusing on illegal distribution of the shirts “Hold It ‘til Dark” and “Beer and Presidents”. The local outlet Zeeburg Sound reported that a special investigator for Sleichter was seen in Kennebunk, Maine, last weekend.
On Tuesday, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin sat down at Oktoberfest at the Burlington International Airport and, in a rare move for the actor, the pair spoke on a local network, WCAX-TV. “It’s just constant effort to keep it going,” Baldwin said of the legal case.

Using social media, the pair posted videos and photos at places including the holidays farmers market in Burlington and the West Village’s The Alley as well as part of their set for a new NBC show, My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad.

On a post-gig stroll through Burlington, Hilaria Baldwin was asked where she got the jacket worn by the couple in an image posted to Twitter by the outlet KQED in San Francisco. She did not reply. Baldwin has typically said he gets the clothes he uses for his public image from his wife.

Cathy Horyn, a former New York Times architecture critic who now writes about fashion and interior design, observed on Thursday that the world might not be as glamorous for the star as it was at the start of his 30 Rock, set on a fictional Manhattan TV station where he played the bespectacled title character.
“Alec Baldwin must be one of the wisest actors to ever make such a pathos-filled career move,” she wrote on Twitter. “He’s actively engaged in fundraising to let people steal his looks.”
